Online Therapy in New York City
Have you ever felt like you're doing fine on paper but something underneath isn't quite right?
Do you find yourself managing more than you'd like to admit … anxiety, a past that won't fully settle, patterns that keep repeating?
Have you tried therapy before and walked away feeling like something was missing?
Do you know what needs to shift, but feel stuck on how to actually move it?
If any of this resonates, you're in the right place. I work with people who are done managing and ready for real change.
I'm Ruth Alcantara-Zboinski, LCSW-QS, a licensed New York psychotherapist specializing in trauma, EMDR, anxiety, and relationship and attachment issues. I'm originally from Queens, and I work with clients across New York State via secure telehealth.
Who I Work With
I work with accomplished people in New York who've built lives that work on paper—and often are, on many levels. Most have tried talk therapy before and walked away feeling like something was missing. They're looking for more than support; they want real understanding and real tools. And they're ready to dig into why the same patterns keep showing up.
What they're looking for is someone who gets the full picture and knows how to help them actually move through what's been stuck. They don't want more analysis of problems they already understand. They want direction, structure, and a therapist who sees all of who they are and takes them seriously.
Why Online Therapy Works So Well In New York
Online therapy removes the biggest reason busy people quit: logistics. No commute, no waiting room. You meet from any private space, whether that's home, your office, or wherever you are in New York, and your sessions fit into a real workday.
The work itself is direct and focused. We're not here to fill time or talk in circles. But that directness comes from respect for you and your time. You deserve clarity, and you deserve to feel understood.
What I Help With
Trauma Therapy For high-functioning adults who look fine on the outside and are exhausted on the inside.
EMDR Evidence-based trauma treatment, fully effective through telehealth, including 90-minute intensives for deeper progress in fewer appointments.
Anxiety For overthinkers, perfectionists, and the perpetually "on."
Relationship & Attachment Therapy When the same painful patterns keep following you into every relationship.
Clinical Hypnosis — Coming in late fall 2026, focused on pain management and creating lasting change at the root.
Sessions are in English; bilingual clients are welcome to express themselves in Spanish anytime and be fully understood.

Session Details
Sessions take place online from wherever you are in New York. You'll need a private, quiet space and a laptop or desktop computer (not a phone). If you're doing EMDR, a desktop or laptop is required for the bilateral eye movement to be effective.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. EMDR sessions and 90-minute intensive sessions have different structures, which we'll discuss during your consultation.
