Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 10, 2026

New Dawn Counseling & Therapy ("the practice," "I," "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It's written in plain language on purpose.

An Important Distinction

This policy covers your use of this website. If you become a therapy client, your health information is protected by much stronger rules under HIPAA, and you'll receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices explaining those protections before treatment begins. Nothing you do on this website creates a therapy relationship or a therapy record.

What This Site Collects

Information you choose to share. If you use the contact form, call, or email, I receive what you provide: typically your name, email address, phone number, and message. If you schedule a consultation, scheduling is handled through Calendly, which collects your name, contact details, and appointment selection.

A request: please don't include detailed personal health information in the contact form or email. These channels are for reaching out and scheduling; the private, secure conversation belongs in the consultation and in session.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site (hosted on Squarespace) uses cookies and collects standard analytics: pages visited, general location, device and browser type. This is aggregate visitor data used to understand how the site is used; it is not used to identify you. You can manage cookies through the banner on this site and through your browser settings.

Third-Party Tools on This Site

This site uses a small number of trusted services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Squarespace — website hosting and analytics

  • Calendly — consultation scheduling

  • Mentaya — the out-of-network benefits checker on the FAQ page; information you enter there goes to Mentaya to verify your insurance benefits

I encourage you to review their policies if you'd like details on their practices.

How Your Information Is Used

Information you share through this site is used for exactly what you'd expect: responding to your inquiry, scheduling your consultation, and communicating with you about the practice. It is never sold. It is never shared with third parties for marketing. There is no advertising on this site.

Your Choices and Rights

You may contact me at any time to ask what information I hold from your website interactions, to request a correction, or to request deletion. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional privacy rights under state law. To exercise any of these, use the contact information below.

Data Retention

Website inquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. If you become a client, records are then governed by clinical record-keeping laws and the Notice of Privacy Practices, not this policy.

Children

This website and the practice's services are intended for adults. The site is not directed to children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Not for Emergencies

This website, its contact form, and email are not monitored continuously and are not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
